Serge Lutens Fleurs de Citronnier: fragrance review

What would happen if you took the traditional Eau de Cologne formula (based on citrus essences) and gave it an orientalized spin? Fleurs de Citronnier would ensue!

The mainstay core of fresh lemon and orange blossom is flanked with unisex notes of neroli and petitgrain, but it is the inclusion of white honey and musk which provide a modern, almost soapy, alkaline "iron pressed" facet that is ever so welcome as soon as the weather warms. Casual, insouciant and supremely wearable for any occasion, Fleurs de Citronnier will be enjoyed by both men and women who are searching for something a bit different. Nevertheless it is among the weaker links in the Lutens brand, something more exciting than a walk in the park missing from it.

Created in 2004.
Fragrance Family: Floral Musk
Perfumer: Chris Sheldrake

Top: neroli, petitgrain, lemon blossom. Heart: orange blossom, white honey. Base: musk, styrax resin.

Paco Rabanne One Million: fragrance review

It's hard to fault a fragrance for being popular. After all millions of people buying it can't all be wrong, right? Mostly right.

Paco Rabanne hit the proverbial jackpot with their aptly named 1 Million for Men, a woody spicy scent that combines cinnamon and leathery amber notes in such a ratio as to come across as at once becoming and engulfing. Indeed step into any bar or club or even use the underground and you're certain to come across unmistakably wearing it and making their presence very well known indeed.

The projection (sillage in French, pronounced see-YAJ) of the sweetish, cozy fragrance is quite formidable, as you catch whiffs of it as said guy takes off their jacket or brushes a stray curl off their forehead across the table. You probably need to test the lasting power by the traces left on your sheets the next day and -boy, I can tell you- it lasts!! Oh how it lasts. You will never be able to wash it off completely; that's bittersweet in itself, isn't it?

Therefore if your bet is on sureness rather than individualism look no further than 1 Million. It's a million times trustworthy for tenacity and catching feminine attention.

Divona: Making a Difference Hopefully

Mylene Paquin, the co-founder of the new Divona fragrance line, with the motto Your Story. Your Scent. Your Impact., is doing something we could all contribute to. When you purchase your perfume, she specifies, you get to vote on what goes into care packages we give to survivors of abuse, trafficking, and more. She's holding a Kickstarter campaign, linked HERE, with 133 backers already, aiming for the $20,000 goal with 30 days to go still.

With names like Siren, Sierra, Lux, Coral, Briar, Calima, Ember, Spark, Brook, Zephyr, and Auria, the line looks interesting enough to explore and it's got the endorsement of the former head of the Tijon Fragrance Lab & Boutique.

And this is Divona's Facebook page.

The step by step below explains how it all works.

How the Platform Works

STEP 1 - QUIZ
  • Take one of our quizzes to discover which of our 12 perfumes is your best fit.
STEP 2  - PURCHASE
  • Purchase the 30ml bottle or sample pack of your choice and you'll be given a vote at checkout.
STEP 3 - VOTE
  • Vote on items for a care package that we'll give to survivors of abuse, trafficking, and poverty identified by our nonprofit partners.
STEP 4 - IMPACT
  • A portion of your purchase pays for the care package items - these items come from suppliers that also support women. This is how you support thousands of women with a single purchase.

Take a look and see if you can contribute to the cause.
